Giuliana De Felice (New Zealand)

‘Follow the Signs’, ADELONG

Location: Adelong Creek Walk, Adelong.

Statement: Based on familiar signage, these sculptures play with what we expect to see as part of the known visual landscape.

Biography: Giuliana’s artwork ‘Follow The Signs’ for The Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail has been supported by the New Zealand High Commission in Canberra and the New Zealand Consulate-General in Sydney. Giuliana De Felice is a New Zealand sculptor and creative director specialising in text-based work across a wide range of media. Exploring the concept of re-framing context and environment in relation to the written word, Giuliana sculpts language that prompts a new exchange between the audience and elements from the everyday. Represented in private collections in Italy, England, New Zealand and the USA, she has featured in public collections including Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2009, 2019 and ‘Sculpture Encounters Granite Island’ in South Australia.
