Artist Statement
The artist has woven these 36 individual forms intuitively, meditating on the idea of how air and water can feel and look. Cold air is sharp and water ripples and splashes, making this work appear familiar yet strange simultaneously. This work also references the glass chandelier sculptures of American artist Dale Chihuly and similar to his work this is created through the collision of art and craft. The many and numerous shapes that make up Air & Water are eccentrically organic, a celebration of the wonder of nature.
