Visitors to Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi, Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe and the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail now have the opportunity to explore the exhibition through the official Sculpture by the Sea App.

The GPS enabled app offers a free, interactive way for visitors to easily navigate around the Sculpture by the Sea exhibitions and discover details about the artworks, and the talented artists who created them.

The App is free to download and includes an interactive map, catalogue details of all exhibiting artists at each exhibition, stunning photographs, news and award announcements. The app also gives users the option to “like” an unlimited number of artists’ sculptures, creating a personal shortlist of favourite sculptures ready to be voted for in the popular Allens People’s Choice in Bondi and EY People’s Choice in Cottesloe.

Audio tours of selected works in Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2023  and Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2023 exhibitions are available via a small donation. Created by Dr Michael Hill, Head of Art History and Theory, National Art School, each piece of audio lasts for around one minute and offers unique insights into the artists and their sculptures.  Look out for the artworks with a headphone icon on the site number.

A donation of $2.99 will unlock all audio tour recordings available at each selected exhibition.

For Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2023, five sculptures inspired musical improvisations, each created by members of the Perth Symphony Orchestra.  The music has been recorded and uploaded to the Sculpture by the Sea App for you to listen to while viewing the sculpture that inspired it.

Voluntary tax-deductible donations – starting at $5 – can also be made directly through the app.

The development of the Sculpture by the Sea app is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW. Audio recordings were kindly made with the assistance of Smith & Western Sound.  Musical improvisations, thanks to the Perth Symphony Orchestra and to Jennifer & Christopher Rowe and Blue Ocean Monitoring for their donation to make this collaboration possible.

Enjoy!
