Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2024 hosted two free sunset Aboriginal Dance Performances by Djoogan Keeninyirra, Bibbulmun Whadjuk Dancers of Nyoongar language as part of the Tourism WA Invited Aboriginal Artistic Program.

As part of the program, Djoogan Keeninyirra engaged in the ultimate Woolah (celebration) in front of Sharyn Egan’s ‘Balga Boola – Bigsmob Balga’ along the magical Balga tree sculptures that greeted the Cottesloe shore.

Performances were held on Friday 15 March and Sunday 17 March. On 17 March, the sunset performances were preceded by music and dance performed by the Boodjar Bidi Youth Art Group, a collective of students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island heritage from Guildford Grammar.
