Dr Subodh Kerkar is a qualified medical professional who gave up medicine to pursue the arts in 1990. Since then he has carved a niche for himself in the field of conceptual art, land art and performance art. Kerkar is the Founding Director of Museum of Goa and currently holds the Mario Miranda Chair as a Visiting Research Professor at Goa University. Kerkar has exhibited widely in galleries, museums and biennales. Solo exhibitions in India, England, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway and UAE. Kerkar was invited to participate in the India Showcase Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2024. Exhibited Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus 2015, Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi four times since 2012 and Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe three times since 2013.
