SUPPORTING THE BEST IN REGIONAL TOURISM

Posted: February 12, 2021 / News

We are pleased to continue to bring to you some of the best places to visit across regional Australia.  Whether you live in Australia and are planning a local holiday, or live overseas and looking forward to returning to Australia, we will present in our future newsletters some very special places to visit, each of which has been nominated by the Sculpture by the Sea staff. Feel free to visit our website map with all of the places we write about so you can simply click on regions where you plan to travel in the next few months or years.

We are featuring places in Fremantle this time, whilst not regional, these places are worth visiting in Perth simply due to them being dynamic yet laid back places to visit, wander, eat and drink.

Lions and Tigers, Fremantle, Western Australia

The lovely folk behind Lions and Tigers are devotees of flavour above all else, with the incredible regional diversity and adaptability of Indian cuisine as their biggest inspiration. Their entire friendship is grounded in evenings cooking curry, chatting about travels, laughing and knocking back the riesling. You can visit for a drink, pulling up a stool at the bar or snagging a table or booth in the bar area, or dine in where it’s cosy and friendly.

Their story began when Sean and Charlie met, played cards and drank tequila, which inevitably lead to marriage. Best mate Woody ran other people’s restaurants with Charlie and drank too much with Sean, and thus a little gang with big ideas was formed.

Passionate about the power of a good meal spent with good people, and giddy at the privilege of sharing that passion with others, Lions and Tigers is a gem worth dining out for!

Ootong & Lincoln, South Fremantle, Western Australia

Super cool Freo cafe Ootong & Lincoln oozes laid-back, retro vibes. Two enormous rainbow zebras meet you when you enter the South Terrace space, which is full of draped light globes, antiques and 50’s style diner chairs. Not to be outdone by the decor, the menu boasts some of Perth’s best brunch fare – all made on site and all using locally sourced ingredients.
