All of the other entries can be viewed in our Facebook album here.

The Sculpture by the Sea team and panel of judges were blown away by the standard of entries for this year’s competition. Seeing the exhibition through the eyes of the many talented photographers is always such a pleasure!

What made Tegan’s photo really stand out for the judges:

“Composition, colours and the captured moment are all on point – really strong image” – Jarrad Seng Sculpture by the Sea Photographer & #sxsmoments competition judge.

“Great moment captured. The sculpture is clean but nice diffused foreground, birds in the air and the people give scale.” – Clyde Yee, Sculpture by the Sea Photographer & #sxsmoments competition judge.

Upon hearing she had won Tegan said, “Since learning of Sculpture by the Sea a few years ago, I really look forward to each exhibition and seeing how I can capture the artists’ works following my own interpretations. This year I knew I had to get in early, so I arrived at the 2015 exhibition just several hours prior to the official opening – the beach was still very populated considering, but I stood there and absorbed my surroundings, taking in the works of art. I immediately connected with Ken Unsworth’s “My Home is your Home” and felt I had to create an image visually different to what I imagined the generic photo might be. I crouched down above the exercise balls and composed my photo, knowing the colours would work in harmony with one another. As I took my third photo, a flock of seagulls flew around the sculpture, and I knew at that point I had created something magical. I’m really thrilled to be joining the team as an official photographer at Bondi’s exhibition later this year, and I looking forward to maximizing this wonderful opportunity and creating even greater magic.”
