Over $190,000 Raised- Thank You!

We are beyond grateful and would like to thank the people of Perth and its visitors for  rallying behind the exhibition, thanking the many thousands of people who collectively raised $95,987 in voluntary contributions on entry at the Cottesloe 2020 exhibition.

With the Minderoo Foundation generously matching donations up to $150,000, the total figure raised comes to $191,974.

Endangered by a significant decline in corporate sponsorship and State government funding, in 2020 we looked to the public for the first time in the exhibition’s history, announcing in early March that we would ask everyone who visited the Cottesloe 2020 exhibition to donate $5 on entry as a voluntary contribution, and $10 for families.

The donations, and the matching campaign, will go towards covering the artists’ installation costs and event costs to ensure the survival of Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed donations small and large and for the wonderful matched funding by the Minderoo Foundation. It is inspiring and heart-warming to see how much Sculpture by the Sea means to the people of Perth,” said Founding Director, David Handley.

“Closing the exhibition early has cost our not-for-profit organisation but it was something we had to do. At the same time this tremendous level of public support gives us the energy and resolve to do everything we can to return next year.”
