An essential part of our Access & Inclusion Program sees our team install special beach matting and sun shelters for visitors with limited mobility, or who use wheelchairs, so they can access a number of the sculptures installed on the beach.
Thanks to the support of Lotterywest, Beach Access Days are happening next week: Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 March 2023.
Visitor service assistants will be on-site to meet and greet, direct and inform visitors from 9:30am – 6.30pm.
Additional St. John Ambulance services will be on site for the Beach Access Days. Thank you to Lotterywest for funding the Access & Inclusion Program at Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe.
It can be very hot on the beach so please dress accordingly.
If you bring your own wheelchair, there is no need to book for our Beach Access Days.
However, if you do require a wheelchair, a free wheelchair is available to borrow – at all times during the exhibition not just Beach Access Days – from the Exhibition Reception in front of the Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club, 87 Marine Parade, Cottesloe.
Please telephone 02 8399 0233 (WA redirected at no additional cost) to borrow a wheelchair to explore the sculptures on the largely shaded grass parkland above Cottesloe beach with great vantage spots enjoyed by all to view the sculptures on the beach.
While bookings are not required to borrow a wheelchair, we recommend you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
