‘Ocean Odyssey’ is colourful, interactive performance where the public were invited to become part of a choreographed formation, guided by TWA Invited International Artist Dr Subodh Kerkar (INdia).
Human civilisations are born in the womb of the ocean. Waves breaking on the shore not only create patterns on the sand and rocks, but also carve out civilisations. The life on the coast is inseparable from the ocean. The ocean is not only the provider of food, but also an influence on every aspect of life. For centuries, the ocean carried ideas, people and materials across continents. The work celebrates the inseparability of coastal life with the environment and the role of the ocean as the medium of cultural diffusions. This is a performance installation, which will be created with 100 people on Cottesloe Beach during Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2026.
