Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi welcomes Windex®, renowned glass cleaner brand, as a Supporting Partner of the 2023 exhibition, providing sponsorship and artist support.
The sponsorship is important to Windex® who are helping keep our coasts clean by collecting plastic from within 50kms of our coasts and using to make more than 68 million Windex® bottles.
As part of the sponsorship, artists Sophie Lanigan and Max Volfneuk will receive the Windex® Artist Subsidy for their work ‘A Bed of Oysters’.
‘A Bed of Oysters’ is one of over 100 sculptures featured in this year’s exhibition and will be sited on the large sandstone rock, known as ‘the boot’ south of the Bondi Icebergs on the 2km Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk.
Lanigan and Volfneuk said, “This artwork is about the importance of respecting the marine ecosystems that exist along urban coasts. Thanks to Windex® for supporting our work and the exhibition.”
Lanigan and Volfneuk are Sydney-based designers with a background in architecture who share an interest in sculpture and the environment.
David Handley AM, Founding CEO & Artistic Director of Sculpture by the Sea, said, “Congratulations to Sophie and Max on being the recipients of the Windex® Artist Subsidy, with the powerful environmental message of ‘A Bed of Oysters’. We are delighted to have Windex® as a sponsor to help celebrate the 25th Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi exhibition as a free to the public exhibition for all to enjoy.”
