SCULPTURE, FOOD & WINE LONG WEEKEND

27 APRIL – 30 APRIL, 2023 

To celebrate the unveiling of five new sculptures on the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, Sculpture by the Sea hosted a four-day Sculpture, Food & Wine Long Weekend from 27-30 April. Showcasing local growers, harvest celebrations and dining experiences, the weekend brought together sculpture, food and wine set among the stunning Snowy Valleys region of southern New South Wales.

Highlights of the Four Day Long Weekend with ticketed and free events included:

THURSDAY 27 APRIL
12noon
  Viewing the sculptures at Courabyra Wines (free), followed by a Meet the Artists Lunch

FRIDAY 28 APRIL
10.30am  April Pine sculpture unveiling, Talbingo (free) – Miles Franklin Drive, Talbingo, opposite the Ampol Service Station
12.30pm  Jina Lee and Sasha Reid sculpture unveilings, Batlow (free) – Corner of Pioneer Street and Batlow Road, Batlow / Toc H. Park, Pioneer Street, Batlow
6.30pm  A Harvest Party Celebration evening among the sculptures at Johansen Wines

SATURDAY 29 APRIL
11.30am
  Kaoru Matsumoto sculpture unveiling in the grounds of the Adelong Services & Citizens Club (free) – 54 Tumut Street, Adelong
12noon  The Riverina Light Horse Troop accompanies the tour of the sculptures along the Adelong Creek Walk hosted by David Handley, Founding CEO of Sculpture by the Sea & Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail and artists (free)
2.30pm  Preview opening by David Handley of an exhibition of paintings by Marija Zrno at 64 Tumut Street, Adelong
4pm  Tour of the sculptures in Goldfields Park, Tumbarumba hosted by David Handley and artists (free)
6pm  Feast with the Farmers Fireside Dinner at Café Nest

SUNDAY 30 APRIL
11 am
  Wine Tasting throughout the day at Obsession Wines, with artist talks by Takeshi Tanabe at 11.30am and 3pm (free)
12.30-2.30 pm  Brigham House in Tooma opened its doors for tours by the artists of its indoor collection and a painting exhibition by Motoko Hama (free)
