Karin van Der Molen, from the Netherlands, talks about her artwork ‘Kintsugi Coral’ exhibited in Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2019, which uses recycled broken crockery to create ‘coral’. Van de Molen is inspired by the Japanese way of repairing broken cups with gold which makes the cups more valuable.
