Introducing our Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe, 2015 Curatorial Panel

Posted: February 19, 2015 / News

We received hundreds of submissions from artists around the world for Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe and we are regularly delighted by some of the concepts proposed for each exhibition.

Our Curatorial Panel meet each August to review the artist submissions and to select the works for this year’s Cottesloe exhibition. We are very pleased to introduce this year’s Curatorial Panel to you and thank each of them for their work.

  • Dr Michael Hill, Head of Art History & Theory, National Art School, Sydney
  • Julienne Penny, Director, Tunbridge Gallery, Perth
  • Dr Nien Schwarz, Artist, Senior Lecturer, School of Communications & Arts, Edith Cowan University, Perth
  • Professor Ted Snell AM, Director, Cultural Precinct, University of Western Australia, Perth

We are pleased to announce that Dr Nien Schwarz will also be judging the Sculpture Inside Curator’s Award. Sculpture Inside is our exhibition of approximately 140 small indoor works in the Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club, each created by the artists in the outdoor exhibition. Nien will select the award winning sculpture which will be announced at the Sculpture Inside exhibition opening.
