Now in its third year, children and their parents/carers are invited to meet, work with and have fun making sculpture with a Sculpture by the Sea exhibiting artist. This year the workshops will be with Elyssa Sykes-Smith – a young emerging artist who has recently won several major awards. She has exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi and Cottesloe.
She will be working with children and adults to create acrobatic figures by folding and assembling card shapes. Final art works can be taken home and hung up for all to admire. Workshop participants who meet and work with Elyssa will really enjoy discovering her work in the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition on Cottesloe beach from Friday 4 March until Sunday 20 March – and will have gained first hand experience about her ideas and creative practice as a sculptor!
