Sculpture by the Sea enables both students and teachers a stimulating multi-sensory experience of seeing, feeling, examining, responding, exploring, discussing, describing, imagining, remembering, speculating...all from a hands on encounter with living artworks. The exchange between environment and art demands responses even in the youngest of visitors.
This Alcoa School Education Program, Cottesloe 2010 includes professional development for teachers (Teachers Preview and Teachers Workshop), Sculpture Workshops with exhibiting artists for primary and secondary schools, Study Tours involving interactive talks with exhibiting artists about their work and practice and Exhibition Tours where students can engage with a selection of works in the exhibition with an experienced educator.
