THE BALNAVES FOUNDATION SCULPTURE PRIZE
Sculpture by the Sea's Major Prize, The Balnaves Sculpture Prize of $60,000, was awarded to:
May Barrie (NSW), time and tide granite monolith II.
For each year over 10 years, The Balnaves Sculpture Prize winning sculpture will be gifted to for permanent public placement by The Balnaves Foundation.
TRANSFIELD HOLDINGS KINETIC ARTIST PRIZE
The 2009 Transfield Holdings Kinetic Artist Prize of $10,000 was awarded to:
Tim Price (USA), easel windframe
SYDNEY WATER ENVIRONMENTAL SCULPTURE PRIZE
The 2009 Sydney Water Environmental Sculpture Prize of $10,000 for a work utilising wind, waves, water, solar power or other aspects of the natural environment was awarded to:
Phil Price (NZ), morpheus
Between 1997 and 2004 Sydney Water generously supported artists exhibiting in Sculpture by the Sea through provision of acquisitive works gifted to Campbelltown City Bicentennial Art Gallery.
ALLENS ARTHUR ROBINSON PEOPLE'S CHOICE PRIZE
The 2009 Allens Arthur Robinson People's Choice Prize of $5,000, as voted by visitors of the exhibition, was awarded to:

WAVERLEY COUNCIL MAYOR'S PRIZE
The 2009 Waverley Council Mayor's Prize of $5,000 was awarded to:
Koichi Ishino (Japan), wind stone - a tail of cloud.
THE ANDREA STRETTON MEMORIAL INVITATION
The 2009 Andrea Stretton Memorial Invitation of $5,000 to exhibit in Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2010 was awarded to:

AGNSW SOCIETY VOLUNTEER TASK FORCE SITE SPECIFIC AWARD
The 2009 AGNSW Society Volunteer Task Force Site Specific Award of $2,500 was awarded to:

THE DAMON COURTENAY MEMORIAL YOUNG SCULPTOR PRIZE
The Damon Courtenay Memorial Young Sculptor Prize of $5,000, for an artist 29 years or under, donated by Bryce, Adam and Brett Courtenay was awarded to:

NAB KIDS' CHOICE PRIZE
The 2009 NAB Kids' Choice Prize of $3,000 as voted by children visiting the exhibition, was awarded to:

THE AUSTRALIAN UNREPRESENTED SCULPTOR AWARD
The 2009 Australian Unrepresented Sculptor Award of $3,000 including an invitation to exhibit in Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2010, donated by Gabrielle & Christopher Browning was awarded to:

ART GALLERY SOCIETY OF NSW PRIZE
The 2009 Art Gallery Society of NSW Prize of $5,000, donated by the Art Gallery of NSW, as chosen by Edmund Capon, Director of AGNSW was awarded to:
