“Inconvenience has recently been attached to the truth about climate change. Sculpture, by virtue of its physical nature has been perceived to be no less inconvenient as a cultural commodity. Sculpture by the Sea has shown that sculpture is most convenient. SxS has changed what it is to be a sculptor in Australia. We were accustomed to wall to wall resistance, but now there is a blanket and some relief. Thank you Sculpture by the Sea. I have shown 11 out of 15 times. I keep expecting to outgrow SxS but it lures me back. It might be bigger than me. I think it is.”
